Two layers
PRE-GEN is the layer every AI service and every registry has: ask before generating, check the signed answer, generate only on a yes, report, keep the proof. It is free, and it needs no account anywhere. Your identity is your domain and a key you make.
Commerce is what a registry may add on top: selling licences, with its own prices, checkout and contract. PRE-GEN names no checkout. A registry that sells nothing is still a complete registry.
| PRE-GEN | Commerce | |
|---|---|---|
| Who has it | Every AI provider, every registry | A registry that sells licences |
| What it is | Ask, check, generate, report, prove | Prices, checkout, contracts |
| Account | None: a domain, a key, the library | The registry's own |
| Cost | Free, Apache-2.0 | The registry's own |
| Where it is written | This site | Each registry's own site |
If you run an AI service
Without PRE-GEN: add PRE-GEN first. One sitting: a domain, a key, the library, the test network. The provider guide takes you through it with complete, tested examples. Then, if you want to buy licences for your product or your users, go to any registry's commerce page.
With PRE-GEN: go straight to the commerce page of the registry you want to buy from. Nothing to integrate again: the same key, the same requests. The first registry's commerce is at prampta.com.
If you run a registry
Implement PRE-GEN (the registry guide) and get listed. Answer every AI app known by its domain, with no account, on the same terms; you may check an app under your published procedure before you say yes beyond its own users' licences. Whether you sell anything, and how, is yours: publish a commerce page on your own site if you do.
If you are a person a registry represents
Your yes or no reaches every AI app that asks, signed by your registry. Selling your licences happens at your registry, under its terms.
If you bought a licence
Connect it to the app you use with one consent screen at your registry, like “Sign in with Google” (how it works).
PRE-GEN belongs to no company. Its author also runs PRAMPTA, the first registry, which has no rights that any other registry lacks.
